I forgot one little thing...

OK, I've identified a slight oversight on my part with regards to the rearing of my child. While I was busy nurturing his ability to read from the age of 2, I somehow forgot to teach him to tie his shoes. I admit, I am leaning towards blaming it on velcro, but I do take responsibility for neglecting this valuable life skill. Aidan's sisters kindly gave him a crash course in shoe tying before he started school, and I thought all was well. Apparently Aidan 'forgot' how to tie his shoes, and his gym teacher let me know. After another tutorial on said subject, we were all good again. Recently, Aidan told me that he's been missing out on all the warm-up exercises in gym because he's taking too long with his shoes. After a little probing on the subject, I discovered that I missed out on another life skill - untying the shoe. Aidan was pulling on the 'bunny ear' part and was thus creating many small knots in his shoes. The start of each gym class was spent untying his knots. We're all good now.

More like "if it's not one thing, it's your mother!" :)
